Leaders Speak with Silence

Why would a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan post a video of Jacksonville QB, Trevor Lawrence?

I bleed Orange and Black, however this video of Lawrence is the definition of non-verbal leadership.

After an agonizing defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs, Trevor Lawrence silently yet effectively communicates appreciation to his teammates–defining what it means to lead a team.

When I think of what I want an Auben Pod to look like,  it is this.

The linked video and the words below are shared by John Eades, who is a leadership and performance coach.

Eades says on his LinkedIn post:

“A player led team will always be more successful than a coach led team.

Once team members take maximum ownership over their leadership, you have the makings of a powerful team that will persevere.”

“Whether you are a Jacksonville Jaguars fan, a Clemson University fan, a Trevor Lawrence fan, or just a fan of leadership development, this is what maximum ownership over one’s leadership communication looks like.”

A good reminder: The language of leadership is not always verbal.
