Planning for the Future Starts Now
Every year during the gray days of January, I find a weekend to go completely off the grid in a desolate and remote location.
Using a method created by Mark Allison which he has called, Life on Now/Future Planning, I find a weekend to intentionally shut off all the noise of the world and reset and reaffirm my goals. Having done this for over a decade now, I can say the process, while not easy, can truly be transformative.
As I prepare myself for this year’s solo retreat, I wanted to share some words by famous French philosopher, Albert Camus. I recently shared this quote with the Auben team at our quarterly company vison presentation:
“La vraie générosité envers l’avenir consiste à tout donner au présent.”
“Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.”
Really good words from a really smart dude who understood that a bright future requires focus in the present first.
Here is hoping 2023 is all you want it to be!
