Do Good Day: Serving Together at Auben we are more than just coworkers, we are family!

In this week’s blog, I am turning it over to the Director of Business Development for Auben Texas and Kansas City, Alli Malliton. She will be discussing our recent Do Good Day celebration!

Do Good Day was created to honor the memory of Laura Schuetze, the younger sister of our CEO, Tyson Schuetze. Laura dedicated her life to helping those who were marginalized, championing women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and social justice. In her memory, we close our offices on this day to volunteer in our communities, carrying forward the compassion and kindness that defined her life.

On September 19th, our offices closed for this biannual tradition, and Auben team members across every market showed up in incredible ways—finding opportunities to give back, serve, and spread kindness.

Here is how Auben Served Across Our Markets
Augusta Market
  • Property Management & Sales Department served lunch at The Master’s Table Dining Room.
  • Our Project Management Team led a Harrisburg neighborhood trash pickup.
Kansas City Market
  • Volunteered at Drumm Farm to support children and families.
  • Team members also gave time to the Arizona Humane Society.
Charleston Market
  • Volunteered at the Lowcountry Food Bank.
  • Assisted with a local blood drive.
Dallas–Fort Worth Market
  • Team members volunteered at the Tarrant County Fort Worth Food Bank.
Charles–Lexington Market
  • Hosted Bingo at a local nursing home, bringing joy and connection.
  • Supported a high school lacrosse team service project.
  • Volunteered with Mission Lexington.
Chattanooga Market
  • Donated and volunteered at the McKamey Animal Shelter.
  • Supported Crab Tree Farms, a community farm.
  • Volunteered at the Humane Society.
Jacksonville Market
  • Volunteered at an elementary school, assisting 2nd graders.
Columbia Market
  • Some team members were away on vacation, but they still found ways to give back in their own communities.
More Than a Day
The activities varied—serving food, supporting schools, helping animals, cleaning up neighborhoods—but the spirit was the same. Each act reflected Auben’s belief that communities thrive when people invest time, care, and heart.

We are proud of our team members for living out this value in meaningful ways.

Continuing the Legacy
Do Good Day is a reminder that doing good doesn’t have to be a one-time event. We’ll continue supporting causes like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention through the Out of the Darkness Walk this fall and look for new ways to make a difference in the communities where we live and work.

Together, we’ll keep building a culture where compassion and service aren’t reserved for a single day—they’re part of who we are.

Connect with Alli if you have any questions or if you are looking for investment opportunities in the Texas or Kansas City regions!
